About Biostatistics Consulting

Biostatistics Consulting is a sole trader consulting service for scientists and clinicians. This is my company and I wish to extend my services to the scientific community. I aim to carry out data analysis and reporting at an affordable price to gain experience in biostatistics and support myself during my further studies. Discounts are offered for publishable work where authorship is provided.

Personal Information

I have completed considerable training in medicine and biostatistics. At the tertiary level I initially did 3 yrs of MBBS at Adelaide University followed by 1yr Honours in the application of Biostatistics on Cardiovascular Clinical Trials from University of Melbourne which I received first class honours from University of Melbourne.

Doing this time I completed 1^st yr maths, 1^st yr stats, public health, epidemiology and biostatistics coursework at a distinction average. Details in my resume below.

I accumulated 2.5 years of work experience working on a major randomised control trial. I was incharge of many aspects of the RCT. Initially it involved database design, data entry and data collection. Also I did baseline data analysis, finally analysis and extended analysis with the results and that of another RCT (the SOLVD Dataset)

I then went on to complete a Masters in Biostatistics from Monash University as a part of the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia.

I have also started a MPhil (Masters of Philosophy) from University of Sydney in the analysis of a 30 year lip cancer dataset using survival analysis and the construction of prognostic indexes using risk modelling. It will also include a meta-analysis comparing best treatment options for lip cancer.

Simple tests (z test, t test, paired t test odds ratio, relative risk, risk differnce, Maentel Haenszel adjusting, score, wald, log likelihood etc.)

Prognostic Index – determined by getting the score (linear prediction of the survival model) and creating cutoffs which can be graphed using Kaplan Meier and tested via a logrank, goodness of fit and chunk wald test. (A novel new approach to survival analysis.

Survival Analysis, (single event and recurrent event)

All assumption testing for any of the models given above eg Goodness of Fit, residual normality, random scatter of residual, leverage, collinearity etc.
